A-Z Weekends – A guide to UK Weekend Breaks with Kids

Do you need inspiration for some UK weekend breaks with kids ? Look no further, this page contains all the places we’ve been to on our A-Z weekend travels. We give you full information about what we did each day and how child friendly it was.

What’s the A-Z challenge?

We are using our spare weekends to explore parts of the UK that we have never seen before. Of course, being an A-Z challenge, we’ll be doing it in an A-Z order. We are documenting our trips to make it easy for you to recreate them (and we’ve been doing this on Instagram for a little while now – why don’t you take a look?)

Where can I find the guides to UK Weekend breaks with kids?

We update the page as and when we travel on our adventures, all the details of our A-Z posts are below, with more coming soon!

A is for Aberystwyth: A weekend in the Wild West of Wales

final a

Aberystwyth is a bustling seaside resort as well as a university town. You’ll find the coastline dramatic and breath-taking and  won’t be short of things to do in the local vicinity. It’s situated in quite a rural part of Wales, so whichever way you’ll get there, expect some stunning vistas. Furthermore the area all around Aberystwyth gives you plenty of seaside options, from surfing, beach waterfalls, dolphin sighting, golden beaches and retro pier amusement arcades. If you’re only coming for the weekend, you’ll be left wanting more.…..read the post by clicking the link here.

B is for Blackpool: A thrilling weekend in the illuminating city

We love that Blackpool is a British seaside resort through and through. You’ll find three piers and amusement arcades and fun fairs galore, plenty for your little people to get excited about. While you might find it a little tired around the edges but one thing is for sure, you won’t be stuck for things to do as at every turn you’re drawn in by the bright lights of the next attraction.…read the post here

C is for Christchurch: From the New Forest to the sunny south coast

c is for christchurc

We found Christchurch itself an unassuming town. However, you and the family will find, it’s magnificent cathedral and location beside the sea and the forest makes it an ideal base to explore. You’ll especially find it’s a great place to make the most of the outdoors. We chose to stay in the Forest rather than in the town itself which at that time of year was breath-taking. D is for Dovedale – a wintery weekend in the Peak District. I’ll be writing up this post soon about our adventures which include the Dovedale Stepping stones and the hunt for the best Bakewell Tart. Furthermore, we see what else there is to do in the surrounding area at the coldest time of the year.

E is for Edinburgh, a kid friendly January weekend in the Scottish Capital

We think Edinburgh stuns architecturally and for your kids and you’ll find endless places to explore. Luckily due to the weather at the time of year we traveled, a lot of these places were indoors which made our visit more comfortable. Furthermore you’ll have the option to experience museums, castles, scenic hikes, a Zoo and magnificent views. Read the full post here.
